Are Paid Surveys a Waste of Your Time?

Can You make a living participating in Online Paid Surveys?

Yes, you can make money with these surveys, but I don't recommend you leave your day job for it. Most of the survey sites is for US & UK citizens only, so if you're from any other country, you will struggle to get regular invites to surveys.

Even if you are from US & UK, the compensation are very low for the time spend doing it. Because I'm not from the US or UK, I could only do research on the income they receive and found that the average legit survey pay out $3. Apparently there are numerous scams out there.

What did I do to get to my conclusion?

I can't remember when was the first time I got lured into this opportunity, but I remember the ad had a calculator to show you the potential income you can generate through this business. At about $20 per survey at 5 per day, this was a no brainer. I signed up.

I spend hours filling forms on 20+ sites. Soon I did get surveys, but seldom qualified, thus not making any money in my first month. It was very frustrating, because you fill in the questionnaire to your best and most honest ability for 10 minutes, just to be told, you don't qualify. It was very disappointing.

By the way, don't ever pay for these programs, as you can join each program for free.

For this article, I decided to see if maybe, I missed something previously and signed up to the top 5 Survey sites and this is what happened.

It took me 1 hour, just on one site, to fill in my details, which they need to qualify me for jobs. It was frustrating, but would be worth it if the compensation was right.

Not one of these sites was straight forward with the compensation plan. You earn points, which you can redeem as soon as you built up a certain amount of points. On one site it pays out after 1000 points, which, I figured out after reading the entire FAQ, is equal to $10.

My first survey was for 30 points and took me 15 minutes. The second was for 15 points and took me 10 minutes. So, to get to 1000 points or $10, I need to complete a further 10+ hours or 50 surveys.

To top it of, I only received these two surveys over a 2 week period on all 5 sites. If you take this into consideration, It'll take me 50 weeks to get to $10.

After joining these 5 sites my spam folder filled up with Casino ads. It could be that they make money of their email marketing list, which is not illegal, but is a bit of a slap in the face.

I personally think it's a waste of time.
I rate Paid Online Surveys at 2 out of 10, because according to rumors there are people making a solid extra income this way.

Please, if you got any experience on this, give me your honest opinion.
